Drinking enough water and getting your steps in may sound like very basic things, but they matter more than people realise.

Your body needs water every day to function properly. Water helps regulate body temperature, supports digestion, carries nutrients around the body and helps you stay alert. When you do not drink enough, you may feel tired, get headaches or simply feel less energetic. You do not need to force huge amounts of water down. Just make a habit of drinking regularly throughout the day, especially when it is hot or when you are active.

Walking is another simple habit that can have a big impact. You do not need to spend every day doing intense workouts to benefit from movement. Getting your steps in keeps your body active and helps you avoid sitting for extremely long periods. A daily walk can also be an easy way to clear your head while still moving your body.

The good thing about these habits is that they are accessible. You do not need expensive equipment or a complicated routine. You can carry a bottle of water with you and choose to walk when you have the opportunity.

Health is not only about what happens inside a gym. It is also about the small things you consistently do throughout the day.

Drink your water. Get up and walk. Keep your body moving.

Simple habits can become a strong foundation for a healthier life.
