My dear Hivers,
It is true that in this post you will not have the opportunity to see an interesting landscape, natural beauty or a tour of an interesting city, but you will have the opportunity to virtually tour the exhibition of the museum of one of the greatest and most important scientists in the whole world.

I will take you on a tour of the
Nikola Tesla museum.

And if by some chance you find yourself in Belgrade, I definitely recommend that you plan and schedule a visit to this museum, because the experience you can have in the museum is almost impossible to describe (but I, for the sake of you who find this museum unattainable, will do my best to present it to you in the best possible light).

I was thinking in which community to do the presentation of this museum, but when I saw the tour dates on the door, and that most of the tours were conducted in English, I realized that the visitors are mostly foreigners, and for that reason I am adding the museum as a pin to my #worldmappin map.

The museum of Nikola Tesla, a Serbian scientist born in Croatia in 1856, is located in one of the most beautiful villas in Krunska Street, Djordje Genčić's house, designed by the famous architect Dragiša Brašovan and built in 1929.

Only 9 years after the death of the famous scientist, in a hotel room in New York on Christmas 1943, this building was turned into a museum and from that distant 1952 until today, it attracts a lot of visitors, interested in the scientific discoveries and work of Nikola Tesla.

I used to come to this museum as a kid, when I was in elementary school, and later, in high school for electrical engineering (which bears Tesla's name).
I have been planning to visit it again for years, but due to the fact that I did not want to listen to the lecture in English, I waited for the opportunity until I matched the appointment for the tour in Serbian.

And that opportunity presented itself to me one warm summer day, when I liked being in the museum more than being on the hot streets.

I have not researched how many similar museums there are in the world (so I can say that this one is unique), but it is characterized by the fact that in the museum space, in addition to the technical exhibits that are used to show the public, various devices and models, documents and personal belongings of Nikola Tesla, there is also an urn with the ashes of this great scientist.

The golden sphere, on the marble base, looks impressive, just like the scientist Tesla was.

I cannot present his life's work to you now, I can only write that without his discovery of the rotating magnetic field and the induction motor, we would still be limited to short distances of electrical energy transmission.

In the museum, there are several models of electricity transmission systems, there are photos from Niagara Falls, where the first hydroelectric power plant with a multiphase transmission system was built, and models of engines that are still in operation today are also displayed.

The one with the brass egg was the most interesting to me.

Tesla also had ideas about wireless signal transmission. His patents were used in some devices during his lifetime, for which he did not receive credit, which was corrected later, when his name was attached to the patents.

There are a lot of such documents in this museum and they are not on display for the public, but scientists and workers can familiarize themselves with them in the Museum Archive, where they are kept.

In one part of the museum, a model of the ship is shown, which was controlled wirelessly, remotely, by transmitting signals through the air.

And one of the most interesting parts of the museum is the room with this big transformer, which is a representation of Tesla's discovery of transmitting electrical energy wirelessly.

Tesla had a vision that the earth was used as a conductor and that large transformers (of high voltage) were used in order to transmit electricity to the most distant parts of the world, which was not in the interest of the rich of that time, so they stopped Tesla's further experiments (JP Morgan understood that Tesla wanted to bring good to all humanity, which was not in his interest - where is the profit).
An example of an invention carried out by Tesla is this impressive 500000V transformation. When you are near him (but still not too close 🙂 ) and you hold one neon light bulb in your hand, wirelessly transmitted electricity, turn on those light bulbs.

I also recorded a slightly smaller transformer, of 120,000V, which uses our skin as a conductor (skin effect).

Electricity of very high frequency (tens or hundreds of KHz) and low current (measured in mA) do not have a negative effect on the human body and do not penetrate the skin, but are transferred to the light bulbs by touch. The spark emitted by the transformer when a finger is brought close to it as a conductor, creates a short-term heating, but it is so short that it is negligible.

In addition to inventions, models and some measuring devices (which I have no idea what they were used for), we have several Tesla portraits, busts and his personal items on display in the museum.

One formal suit, gloves, glasses, writing equipment, fountain pen, scissors, dry-markers, crocodile-skin lathe, table clock...

And there is also a safe that was transferred from the NewYorker Hotel where Tesla stayed for most of his life in America.

What kind of secrets that boss saw, considering Tesla's mind and genius ideas that led the time in which he lived, remain a secret for me, and I can only say thank you on this occasion, for dedicating his life to the benefit of all mankind, because, if it were not for his inventions.

The question is whether today we would have washing machines, our wireless, mobile phones, computers, blockchain and even Hive.
