On Saturday I found myself again in front of the gates of Malata beer pub in Szeged, just in time for a #beersaturday report 馃檪
As always, I make sure to stop by the new brewery and see what they currently have on tap.
I like to come back here, because the beers I try have a great taste and I really enjoy drinking them, and also, after trying a few of them, I look for information about them on the Internet.
What did I drink, who cooks them, where are they from and the like 馃榾
In the Malata beer garden, the garden works even through the winter, because the beer drinkers don't seem to be afraid of frost.
And now it's still nice weather, so there was an open bar in the yard.
Somehow I like the indoor bar, but this open one, which is in the yard, has its advantages. There is no tobacco smoke and it is not suffocating...
Although they have a fridge with craft beers in cans, I decided to be served from the taps 馃檪
I chose two IPA beers this time.
One SPILL, IPA, with 6% alcohol from Vault city brewery and the other BRIGHT LES, with 6.5% from Brew Your Mind(BYM).
I tried to find some information about SPILL beer, but to no avail.
Not a single piece of information anywhere.
Maybe it's a typo, or maybe some limited series...
In any case, an excellent IPA, with the familiar refreshing tropical aromas, with a thick thick foam (which I touched with my finger), which lingers for a long time, would be recommended to anyone who likes this style if they find themselves after this sled.
I would also recommend it to someone who is far from Szeged, but since I don't have accurate information about the beer, what can I recommend 馃榾
For the second beer, I chose Bright Lies, a New England IPA (NEIPA) / Hazy IPA, from the Hungarian craft brewery Brew Your Mind at exactly 6.5% ABV.
Poured into a glass, it has a distinctive, completely cloudy and thick appearance similar to orange juice or tropical fruit (ie, it has a classic "juicy/hazy" appearance). The foam is white, creamy and stable, and leaves nice marks on the glass while drinking.
The aroma is extremely intense and fruity. Citra and Mosaic hop varieties dominate, which gives strong notes of tangerine, grapefruit and passionfruit along with notes of mango.
At the first sip, I was greeted by a real explosion of tropical fruits and citrus.
The bitterness is very moderate, characteristic of the NEIPA style, without a sharp aftertaste.
Thanks to the use of oat malt, the beer has a silky, creamy and full texture on the palate. The 6.5% alcohol is perfectly blended and almost imperceptible, making it extremely drinkable for its strength.
鈥婽o sum it up, it was very pleasant to taste these two IPA beers and I will definitely return to Malata beer hall again, every time I find myself in Szeged.
Since, while I was writing this post, a gentleman, who had a long absence, replied to my comment 馃檪 , I will be free to do something that maybe no one else has 馃檪
This is #BeerSaturday week and I would like to invite @detlev to write a post in any language about beer with at least 3 pictures.
馃檪
Cheers!
