Sunday was another busy day for me as I had not one, but TWO different EDM club shows to go to. Since I left my apartment past midnight, Elsewhere's Saturday night party shows up on my Sunday actifit report!
The British tech-house group Boys Noize were the featured headliner for Saturday night, and Curses was also playing in support. Unfortunately, due to some issues with my actifit app, I don't think any of my steps walking to the club or dancing at the club were tracked. Any of you all competing against me on the leaderboard got lucky this week!
Luckily, I identified the mistake on my walk home at 4am, so at least I got credit for the 1km walk home! Here are a few more art pictures I snapped off during my walk home. With so much great art in my photo gallery, I'm having trouble remembering what I've posted previously and what is new for my readers!
Sunday, I woke up around noon and made sure my Fantasy (american) Football rosters were ready for action. Then I warmed up some of the delicious vegetarian lentil soup I had cooked up the day before. Today, I remembered to take a picture. Red lentils, turnip, parsnip, and sweet bell peppers make this a tasty way to start the day, along with some sourdough toast. I also finished the meal with a juicy red grapefruit!
Sunday, my partner and I planned to go to a "day" party at a club called Superior Ingredients. They have a climate controlled and enclosed rooftop deck with gorgeous views of the Manhattan skyline. As a part time job, I've been the chief editor and lead writer for an EDM media company called Moon Lvnding. You can find us on all web2 social media @moonlvnding.
Sunday's show featured a takeover by FEMME HOUSE, a non-profit organization founded by producer/DJ/pianist LP Giobbi to help empower female and minority artists to learn skills and book shows. The show ran from 2pm - 10pm and featured a completely female lineup! As media, my partner and I both got artist passes, so we could go up on stage and capture content to use in social media posts and written article coverage.
Admittedly, my partner is much better at social media, so it was nice to have her around to help capture the video. I am a much better writer, so I was just taking in the ambiance and experience. The show was great! The artists played some great music, and the headliner, LP Giobbi, had her electric piano set up, so she was playing the keys while DJing between different songs. The high moment of the night was when LP played her official remix of Taylor Swift's mega hit "Cruel Summer." It seemed like everyone in the club knew the words but me. I later learned that the song had over 1 BILLION streams on spotify. Wow!
The first pic is of LP Giobbi playing her set. Notice the bubbles in the background. That was a nice touch. The second pic is of my lovely partner, who had a better spot than me to shoot video of the event. We left a bit early at 9pm since it was a long day for me. We finished by making some beef mandu dumplings back at home while watching my Denver Broncos play the Sunday Night Football game.
Miraculously, my Broncos won with a late comeback touchdown and help off the Vikings to win by a point! All in all, it was a tremendous finish to an action-packed weekend. Sure it was a little lame that I finished with 9990 steps, especially when my Samsung Health app showed I had over 20000 steps on Sunday. But ultimately, actifit is helping me be more regular with posting to Hive, so it is not such a big deal that I've missed tracking some steps here and there. Remember you all chasing me on the leaderboard got lucky this weekend. See you back here tomorrow!
