In the first panel we have a cameo from my Aunt-in-law and dead Uncle-in-law. Because we had already done most of the art for the first 3 issues by the time we launched our first Kickstarter, a lot of the people who backed at the max tier in order to get drawn into the comic had to wait in order to see themselves drawn into the comic (although my Mom did make a cameo as the nurse in issue 2)
My uncle was already dead when his partner backed the comic on Kickstarter in order to get him drawn in, I was surprised at the level at which she had backed, it was so sweet. Just this past month I surprised her by showing her that even though she only had asked Bob to be drawn in, I had added her as well so they could be together. It meant a lot to her, and I was truly glad to make her feel something so positive. Never thought these comics would someday immortalize members of my family, it's a strange and powerful feeling.
