Hi hive! My friends and I have a fun tradition of getting together on Fridays and cooking something delicious. Sometimes we roast chicken, sometimes we make homemade burgers or hot dogs (and I often post pictures of these gatherings in my d.buzz), and I decided to tell you about our recent evening in a little more detail.
This Friday we cooked pizza, and decided to take the path of least resistance and cook it in the style of our favorite pizzeria, which, alas, closed and went bankrupt during the global pandemic in the summer of 2020.
To start, we bought the ingredients at the nearest supermarket - juicy tomatoes, white onions, salami, carbonade, ketchup, mayonnaise, and crusts. Everyone was after work - so we decided to skip the dough and use tried-and-true products.
We cut the salami into small cubes, the carbonade into small slices, and the tomatoes and onions into thin rings.
Then the crusts were smeared with quail egg mayonnaise and plain ketchup. Some people say that this is not canon and in general it is not allowed, but in our favorite pizzeria this variant was the most popular and, moreover, when the Italian masters brought the equipment to the furniture factory, they liked this pizza the most and they were delighted with the sauce of ketchup and mayonnaise :)
Layered with sausage, tomatoes, onions and carbonade and sprinkled liberally with cheese (local, made in Rostov) we put the pizza in the oven and while it was cooking made a couple more. The company was large and the evening promised to be long.
The result was just great and we ate the pizza with great pleasure.
And of course, as a fan of extremely spicy food, I could not help but take with me a couple of "killer" sauces - Cajohns Reaper Sling Blade on Carolina Reaper pepper and Coconut Moloko, from Moscow Krafter RT(HD)X, which uses the most exotic varieties of pepper, like Madame Jannet or Bonda Ma Jaque.
The combination of the melted cheese on the pizza and the tangy sauces I really like and I could only stop after the 4th slice, and it was damn tasty!
It would be interesting to know - what do you add to homemade pizza to make it special?
