Fall is my absolute favorite season, but here in upstate NY it tends to be way too short. A blip between summer and Snow.
So I have a thing about making the most of it, getting out in nature as much as possible to stretch it out as far as it will go.
And since time is such a strange thing- it can fly by or it can drag depending on what you do with your days- it really is possible to speed it up or slow it down.
And the days spent outdoors usually feel like an actual Day, rather than a few minutes that became the next one.
In this digital world where so much of life gets droned away in the artificial realm, we made a point to bring our kids into the natural realm a great deal, lots of time spent in the woods especially.
And they still enjoy it, to the point that when they heard I was headed to our private camp, they came out to meet me!
I have to admit, as I watched them pull up I felt like I did something particularly right in this life!
When you have young people who will choose chatting around a campfire over Tik Tok it's definitely an Ahhh, yeah moment :0)
Hands down the best advice I could give to new parents- take them into nature as often as possible.
Let them see the magic in the world that isn't on a screen, it really helps to create grounded individuals who also dream big :)
Happy Thursday everyone!
