The smiles and laughter made me feel so happy during the days I spent with them, especially since it had been a long time since I’d gathered with the kids like this. I felt so joyful that I didn't even want to go out of town again.
However, due to financial circumstances—and the need to cover their daily expenses—I have to work hard so that they can enjoy these beautiful days.
I have three daughters. Raising daughters is truly challenging in the current climate because, as they grow up, we must look after them very carefully; otherwise, there is no telling what might happen. As parents, all we can do is offer them guidance and reminders, since the influence of a permissive social environment could lead them to engage in behaviors they shouldn't.
But I always felt they could look after themselves, because in our small village, the children didn't get into any trouble; after school, they would come straight home.
That was the norm—essentially, the children in our village preferred working over engaging in idle play that served no real purpose. After school, the two older ones would also go to religious classes.
Childhood is a crucial time for parents to ensure their children can continue to develop and make sense of the world around them.
Schooling is also vital, as it helps them understand the kind of future they envision for themselves. I always hope they grow up to be good people who understand life and can empathize with their parents' situation.
