I've been practicing Qigong for some years and got serious about it in January. It's been particularly amazing during this shelter at home period. I highly recommend trying it.
I had a moment during qigong practice this morning where I suddenly felt my mom (who died in 2015), and I wondered why... and then I realized it was because Emily, our amazing teacher, had just spoken about smiling, and I was smiling as we looked up to the “moon” in Earth pose (one of 5 element poses) and it felt like my mom was smiling through me, a part of me. It was a nice reminder of how our parents and ancestors are a part of us physically and metaphysically. And mindful practice can show us who we are. A powerful combination.
Hope you're all finding some ground in this crazy time. Or at least a chance to look up to the moon. And if not... here's a cool moon short film by Possible Metrics to help :-)
Yours in the Chain,
Doug
