"Upaleee" and Carnival has arrived! Ayayay and now what are they going to dress me up as? In Venezuela we have not finished celebrating the New Year when we celebrate another event, Carnival. Is that why they say that we are one of the happiest countries in the world? It is because the celebrations produce well-being, tranquility and joy. **At Carnival, you immerse yourself and leave your problems aside. And after a few days of daily work carried out with great affection, a well-deserved short vacation is not a bad thing. This festivity is cultural, it is part of the Venezuelan idiosyncrasy.
In each community, institution, city halls, public companies, schools and high schools start the preparations to make this event the best of the best and the election of her beautiful Majesty, the queen of such a great event. It is the most beautiful, emotional and relevant part, "the house is thrown out of the window", as we Venezuelans say. With deficiencies or with a lot of showiness, the love and the heart that is put into every detail makes this party one of the greatest celebrations.
As the beautiful Celia Cruz used to say "that life is a Carnival...".
"When I think of the pain in the world, I am grateful to have an unprecedented opportunity to bring a smile, a laugh. The dance floor is a corner of paradise where we clowns enter to make others and ourselves forget our misfortunes”.

But..., there is always a, but. When some moms start to choose the best costume for their beautiful cherubs, the children think: **Ouch, now what are they going to dress up as? Sometimes, in order to make them look pretty and take them to enjoy the parade of parades, floats, and to visit relatives and friends, parents choose some costumes that some children do not like, and they say: "but do you look so pretty, Daddy or Mommy wanted a costume like that when they were little and they could never wear it?
From there sometimes derive the "carnestolendas" traumas in children. Or when they put pantyhose under the "pepa e' sol", the poor girls sweat and sweat, and in some cases this causes rashes on the skin, and moms sometimes wonder, and what would cause that, would it be some food? but, relax my pretty girl, the important thing is that you looked very pretty. And tell me if the blessed costume has more faralaos than a dance dress, some girls are allergic to it and the worst when the boy is afraid of the figure chosen for his own costume..., but, calm down as the beautiful Celia Cruz said, "that life is a Carnival...".

Sometimes you see children walking through the streets of the city crying, holding hands with their parents or a relative, it seems that they are being taken to the guillotine and they cry either because of the costume or because they are tired. And others go requeté happy with their best costume, that's the way the world is, and I love it.
I always participated in all the events that were present in the life of our nephews and nieces. My sister-in-law Rosalba, more than sister-in-law I considered her my sister, and I am grateful because she is in my life. When my oldest nephew Moisés was a child, my sister-in-law decided to dress him up as a clown.... Well you know, mom loves a clown, it reminds them of the little clowns that she used to see and enjoy so much, but the boy is so scared of them that he can't even see them and they come and they dress him up as the clown and all he does is cry and cry every time he looks in the mirror and mom still wonders why is he crying, is he in pain, surely it was the lollipop he ate and it hurt him bad?.

People of #Motherhood, children are the most important beings when it comes to making decisions around and for them. And their voice must be respected. Because in the long run, if they learn to make decisions together with their parents and to be listened to, it will guarantee healthier, more confident children.
I was a child and even though I am not a mother, but I helped and supported my nieces and nephews in raising them, my particular recommendation is that, if they don't like to dress up, don't force them to do it. Believe it or not, they feel, they suffer all these attacks to which they are subjected, and you have to respect their space, understanding that at no time the parents want to do any harm, but only want to celebrate Carnival. Now, if the child loves to dress up, then it is within your possibilities, give them free rein to their imagination and support them, taking into consideration the use of materials to which they are not allergic. Remember that all children are different and we must avoid making comparisons, respect is the greatest tool to form free societies.
Parents and representatives are called to be aware of this issue. Of course, celebrating Carnival is spectacular, but the most important thing is that each participant in the home feels happy, this to avoid major traumas when children are no longer children and become women and men, free of emotional burdens that will eventually affect their quality of life.
