Power down your STEEM and Buy HIVE.

That’s a double up 👊🏽😎

Well, almost. I tried this today with 250 Steem and received 229 HIVE in ~1hr.

The Problem

Blocktrades (and many other exchanges) have STEEM listed under maintenance, a no fly zone. Steem-Engine (BTC peg withdrawals) was working for bit but as of today I noticed SE is also having issues. Had to think quick for a plan C.

The (Current) Solution

Step 1) Powerdown STEEM. Hopefully you started powering down your STEEM as soon as the HIVE fork was announced (like myself).

ex.

Step 2) Open BlockTrades.us. Chances are if you’ve reached this fad you already have an account.

Select to send Bitcoin BTC and accept HIVE to your username.
Copy your BTC deposit address and remember to confirm it is a BTC to HIVE trade.

ex.

Step 3) Visit SimpleSwap.io. Accounts are optional, the service is similar to a ShapeShift before the fuckary.

Exchange STEEM for BTC and set the receiver address to the BTC deposit address from BlockTrades (Step 2)
- Requires sending Steem to @deepcrypto8
- Take a few minutes and you should see the confirmation

There’s no guarantee how long this will work as I assume Sun is trying every card to delay a STEEM sell-off.

This opportunity may or may not last long. Who knows 🤷🏽‍♂️ but if you’re in it for the long term may as well use that STEEM to power up HIVE.

Some may see this as doubling up, but so what. Happens all the time in crypto ie using BCH to buy BTC in late 2017. Or ETC to buy ETH in 2018. List goes on.
