Porque la vida, ahora, se parece
a un aire roto, a un pálido edificio
yo debo continuar este ejercicio
de terca espina que en mi ser florece.
Porque sí, porque no, porque amanece
difícil mi virtud, mi antiguo vicio
de luchar y caer sin armisticio
para la pena. Y cansa, y permanece
la cólera entre adioses y regresos.
Pero doy testimonio hasta el final.
Destruida la furia vuelven esos
instantes de una muerte nacional.
Pero doy testimonio por mis huesos.
Vamos a ver si triunfa el Bien o el Mal.

a broken air, a pale building
I must continue this exercise
of stubborn thorn that blooms in me.
Because yes, because no, because it dawns
difficult my virtue, my old vice
