WAITING
The lump
in my throat
is causing me
to reevaluate things
Am I
the little girl
running in slow motion
against the wind
able to break through brick walls
like the hulk when he turned green
Or am I
the overweight
teenage boy
lying in his own sweat
his muscular thumbs
in sync with his pupils
Either way
I
am
terrified
to swallow
