UNANSWERED CALL
I call and no one is there
yet I hear your voice
you are unknowingly
and effortlessly
teasing me into
loving you more
I thought that was impossible
but with each day that passes
without talking to you
I am reminded not of the past
but of the new memories
we created during
the best weekend
of my life
I find myself singing and humming
in public places
that’s not me
but it helps to
keep you next to me
I travel each day
in my mind
closer and closer
to you
until I can touch you again
and you erase all my problems
without even trying
We have never had to work
at being in love
and that says it all
I can never truly show you
how much your love has meant
but I hope to spend
the rest of my life
trying
