Salazzle ex & Aegislash Pokemon Japan Cards From Nihil Zero Set
Hi there. In this Pokemon TCG post, I cover the Salazzle ex evolution line and the Aegislash evolution line from Pokemon Japan's Nihil Zero set.
Salandit & Salazzle ex
Salandit is a Basic Fire Pokemon with 70 HP, water weakness and a one retreat cost. For one Fire energy it does 20 damage. Not bad in the early game.
Salazzle ex is the evolved form of Salandit. This Stage 1 Fire Pokemon has 260HP, a one retreat cost and Water weakness. The first attack is Nasty Plot for 1 Fire Energy. Nasty Plot allows you to search for 2 cards and put them into your hand. (No need to reveal the cards in this case.) Then shuffle your deck.
Fatal Nail requires 2 Fire Energy for the attack. This does 100 damage plus it makes the opponent's Active Pokemon Poisoned and Burned. Then you run away to the Bench and choose a new Active Pokemon. For a hit and run attack, this is powerful and annoying for the opponent.
In theory, you can combine this Salazzle ex with this Pecharunt and Perilous Jungle for more Poison damage. There is a bit of setup involved though.
Honedge & Doublade
Honedge is bad but needed to evolve into Doublade and Aegislash.
Doublade's attack could deal big damage but you need Honedge, Doublade and Aegislash in your hand. You deal 60 damage for each of these cards you revealed in this way. Is it worth dealing more damage at the cost of not putting Honedge, Doublade in play and revealing them? I dunno.
Aegislash
This Aegislash is a beatstick attacker. The first attack is not great but the second attack could be useful. It is costly at one Metal Energy and 3 Colourless Energy to deal 230 damage. Ignition Energy helps with meeting the Energy cost.
The whole Aegislash evolution line is not great. Too much setup and time needed to get Aegislash attacking.
