Hi everyone. In this education post, I would like to raise awareness of violent students.
Unfortunately, violent students do exist out there. There was this student homecoming party in Guelph, Ontario, Canada that got out of control thanks to a few violent students.
This one is somewhat related. Quite a few French schools are closed due to violence on the streets. I don't know the full story on this one. There may be more to it.
In short, be careful out there. Protect yourselves.
Making Through The Cracks
Me and some critics online are not a fan of having too many students in universities (in Canada). There are extreme opinions that suggest that universities should be eliminated based on a few crazy people from there. I don't agree with this but I do think some universities offer not so useful courses and degrees.
Lower tier universities are offering certain programs with low grade requirements. With low requirements, it is easier to get into university and you would get some lazy and not so well mannered students. The universities want money so they make it easier to accept students. Looking at the bigger picture, the number of graduates with degrees increases while the quality of degree holders may be suspect.
Violence Against Teachers
To even think about violence in the classroom or violent students is disturbing. It does exist unfortunately. Violent acts may involve punches, chokes, kicks or may involve weapons like knives and guns.
Violent students can come from different age groups. These troublemakers could be really young from grades 1 to 8. Violent students can be high school students from grades 9 to 12. Older students could be violent too. These would be young adults from ages 18 to 22 with maybe older students.
There may be disagreements between students and teachers/professors but for violence to occur that is a bit too much. Some students may think they deserve a better grade even though they did not do much work. If the teachers don't give in to the student demands, then some crazy students get violent. It's like then can't take no for an answer and take accountability for their actions.
At colleges and universities, there are some bad students out there. Young women can get attacked by men or even other women. And men can get attacked by other men and women. Young adults aged 18 to 22 are still learning, developing their brains and controlling emotions. Attacks may be motivated by anger, jealousy, revenge, rage, immaturity, etc.
Most students are smaller than teachers in physical size so they have watch out for bad adults. Teachers can get outnumbered by sheer numbers of students who may coordinate together for violent acts. Violence in a school environment really hurts a lot of people. Students, teachers, parents and the school gets affected negatively if certain people cannot get along.
