A World Full Of Addicts
Technology in theory is supposed to make lives easier. Easier as in faster and easier communication around the world as well as increased entertainment options.
One modern problem with many adults and students is phone addiction. A lot of people are glued to their phones and are seeking dopamine hits while they are addicted. This addiction does spread in the classroom. As many students are not mature enough or even disciplined enough to put the phone away while class in session, schools are pushing back with a phone ban.
Phone Ban In Class Objectives
There are many objectives and benefits for banning phones in the classroom. These include:
- Minimizing Distractions During Teaching and In-Class Work Time
- Less Screen Time & Less Eye Strain
- Focusing More on In-Person Interactions
- Allowing Students To Pay More Attention To Class Lessons
Some students and parents may not agree with banning phones in class. What if you need a phone for an emergency? Or I need to make sure my kid is safe.
Before the mass production of cell phones, students were doing okay without phones. I don't think a phone ban in classrooms is the end of the world.
