Hi there. In this food post I visit Konjiki Ramen in downtown Toronto.
Before I started on Steem then Hive, I used to visit Konjiki Ramen a lot but in the North York location part of Toronto. A friend from a while back recommended this place. I later find out it was a Michelin star place.
I may have visited at least 10 times in my lifetime. This is my first visit to the downtown Toronto location. My previous visit to Konjiki Ramen was 2 years ago. I could have dined here more.
The first Konjiki Ramen was opened in Tokyo, Japan in 2006. Chef & Owner Mr. Atsushi Yamamoto wanted to share his ramen abroad. He chose Toronto as it was multicultural and Canada had a lot of resources.

I really like their Signature Ramen Noodle Soup. There was the Mild Shio Ramen or the Intense Shoyu version. I went with the Intense Shoyu Ramen with no Supersize and no egg addon (2 CAD extra). Their regular size is just enough for me in terms of portions.
Their website is misleading though. It says 18.50 CAD for the Mild Shio or Intense Shoyu but went you get the physical menu it is 16.50 CAD. You get the discount when you enter the place, lol.
It took around 10 to 15 minutes for my order to arrive. The presentation of this is very good and the taste is great too.
The soup is a well desgined mix of clam, chicken and pork. You get 2 slices of Pork chashu. They look kind of thick but the pieces are tender and chewy.
With the noodles, you get one type of noodle. They are thin looking but they have good firmness and chewiness. Very good.

This soup is great. It reminds me why I used to go here often. The service was okay, not bad but not amazing. It was somewhat slow with ordering but the time to get the food was okay. There was a big table of 8 friends on my left so that was a factor. A slightly better service would push my rating to a 9 out of 10.
I do think Konjiki Ramen Downtown location is kind of a hidden gem. It is not on a busy main street but on the side. The interior is not very big and it was not too busy. If you want a bit of a retreat from the crowds near the Eaton Centre Mall, Konjiki Ramen is a good spot. It is cheaper than a lot of sit down places especially for a Michelin place.
