Hello AOA Last month, I had the chance to explore and visit the heart of Old Lahore called Androon Lahore, and it turned out to be such a beautiful journey through history, architecture, and culture. Lahores is located in Punjab province of Pakistan and is divided as old Lahore and New Lahore.❤️
Androon Lahore is more than just a collection of old buildings. It carries centuries old history of Mughal Empire and Sikh Empired and its development During British empire, especially the rich legacy of the Mughal era makes us stunned and the generations that came after it. Walking through its narrow streets, historic gates, mosques, havelis, and bazaars, you can still feel the history and traces of the people and cultures that shaped this city over thousands of years.
During thisvisit, I explored the magnificent Badshahi Mosque, the beautifully built Wazir Khan Mosque, the historic Kali Sujan Singh Haveli the cafes there and non other than famous 'Nikah wali gali' which is the narrowest street among all and the lively Food Street beside Badshahi Mosque. Each place had its own character, architecture, and story. For food once visited Haveli, then Kukos cafes and ended with the yummy kulfi faloodi in the street entrance.
What fascinated me most was seeing how Punjab Heritage and conservation efforts are helping preserve these historic places, while also giving someof them a new purpose as visiting sites and renovating them as restaurants which is quite thoughtful and bringing them back into everyday life. The restoration of old buildings and the preservation of traditional architecture allow us to experience a part of Lahore that could otherwise slowly disappear. I hope it remains the same
For me, this wasn't simply a sightseeing trip. Not only me we met so many foreigners who were especially there to visit androon lahore and to learn bout the history of this magnificent city. It felt like stepping into another chapter of Lahore's history seeing how the past and present continue to exist side by side. Theres is river named as Ravi flowing along side Lahore which once used to flow beside Badshahi Mosque

My visit to Androon Lahore was honestly such a memorable experience. Walking through the narrow historic streets made me fall in love with this citymore than before Every mosque, haveli, doorway, and street seemed to carry a story from another era.
What I loved most was seeing the Badshahi Mosque, Wazir Khan Mosque, Kali Sujan Singh Haveli, and the Food Street and punjabs food has no ther comparison and all these come together to show the different layers of Lahore’s history and culture.
