Day 2

You first form your habits; then your habits form you
~John C. Maxwell

Today, my journey continues...

Day 1 ended much like I thought it would. I started to make my list of "limiting beliefs", which is a lot like sitting around and being unbelievably critical of oneself. (Geez, do I really think this poorly of myself?) Let's be clear; I started the list. At some point, seeing all the negativity on paper was enough for one day.
Yet, somehow, I woke this morning feeling in good spirits. Even after being relegated to sleep last night on what is arguably the most uncomfortable sofa ever constructed.

Yeah I see you, Silver. I'm taking your spot. Deal with it.

In any case, I was pretty surprised that I woke feeling as spritely as I did, no matter the sleeping accommodations. Given that I had a decent sized pity-party at the end of the day. There were so many guests that attended. Fear of failure was there, as was depression and anxiety, self-loathing...even that overweight girl made a special appearance. She wasn't invited, but somehow, she caught wind of the festivities and showed up anyway. Yessiree, a good time was had by all. Well... almost all.

Post-party clean-up

Once all the party goers had been ejected, it was time for a little rest. Several hours of time passed, and then a new day emerged: Day 2.
This day found me on audible.com, looking through the self-development section for something to listen to, while I performed my morning routine. I almost missed the category. I was looking for either "self-help" or "self-improvement", but no...it's "self-development" these days. Which I actually find a little misleading. What if I wanted to "develop" into a periwinkle lampshade? I feel confident that there is no such audiobook that can guide me in that aspiration. I could be wrong though. I didn't do a thorough search.

As I was listening to one of the books, I decided (a lesson from yesterday) to make a post everyday, chronicling my journey toward motivation and self-discipline. It's possible that some day's posts will be short. They may even suck. Hell, maybe these first two do? (self-doubt stayed overnight, after the party ended. She didn't think she could drive home.)

That's the plan?

Well, for now it is. Mind you, it isn't the total goal, but it's a start. It sure beats sitting here another day, thinking to myself "yeah, that's a good idea. I'll start it first thing tomorrow", right?
I mean, I've had worse ideas.
I'll keep y'all posted.
Literally.

I haven't failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work
