Hello Hivians! On the second edition of the hive-learners@hive-learners weekly posting topics for week 22, we're discussing the topic of “Weakness and Strength”.

And I must admit that discussing this particular topic can be a tough one. It's not that easy because it takes a lot of self-awareness and self-reflection to know one's weaknesses and strengths.

Some people are usually scared or hesitant to talk about theirs for the fear of being taken advantage of or used against them. But I believe the purpose of this topic is to get to know each other better and also promote self-awareness.

We all have our distinctive weaknesses and strengths and that's okay. The goal is to understand our weaknesses so we can improve them and understand our strengths so we can use them to our best ability.

Talking about my weaknesses, I have many in fact but one of which I'd consider my major weakness is overthinking. I tend to overthink everything every time and this weakness has often impeded me. For instance, before finally bringing myself to ask someone for help or assistance or before I'm finally able to decide on something, I would always overthink and begin series of “what ifs” in my head. My overthinking has led to indecisiveness, trust issues and has cost me time and opportunities which I ended up regretting. Most times, it causes mental stress because I keep stressing my mind over a thought, rather than overlook it.

I'm not very proud of this trait of mine, I see it as a weakness and I'm still working on improving it by being more confident. Although, while trying my best to turn this weakness into a strength, I've been able to use it to my best ability. How? Well, sometimes, it helps me think more before I act and saves me from rash decision-making.

Talking about my strengths, I also have quite a lot of them but my greatest strength would be self-discipline. This is a personal skill I've been able to cultivate over time. I consider it a strength because it's a positive attribute which has helped me achieve my goals as well as contribute to my life satisfaction. Being able to keep myself in control, remain patient, respectful, determined, focused, positive and with withstand pressure is how I've been able to use this strength to my best ability.

If you have any suggestions or opinions about my forementioned weakness or strength, please do feel free to share them with me in the comments 😊.
