This is how a negative attitude mind works
So a guy I work with who, no matter what you ask him, he's already formulating a response as to why something cannot be done.
CaptainNo: "What deal did you do with XYZ.ltd and their support contract?"
Me: "Um? Why do you ask?"
CaptainNo: "Well this guy at one of the sites says his router is playing up, and when I spoke to Dave at XYZ.ltd, he said he was too busy and wanted us to go."
Me: "Okay, we need to know where the site is so we can work out what to charge."
CaptainNo: "Well, they're not going to pay £300 are they!"
Me: "Where did £300 come from?"
CaptainNo: "Well if we charge £65 an hour."
Me: "You're getting carried away. Let's find out where it is first."
CaptainNo: "Well, we haven't got the van!"
Me: "So let's ask if you can use your car, if you want to? Or there's the other Director; he can go."
CaptainNo: "Pfft he won't go."
Me: "Well, we don't know where it is yet. As I said, find out where it is, it could be just down the road? We can plan from there."
Five minutes later, I hear him having pretty much the same conversation with the Director and yet still not discovering the location. To my utter joy, I heard the Director say:
Director: "Find out where it is and we can decide."
