Hello, Friends especially Foodies!
Udon is a Japanese thick noodle, usually served in soup… If you like to eat noodle, you should try Japanese Udon. I don’t know whether you like udon or not, but for both mom and I, when we missed udon, we went to a restaurant which sold the best tastiest udon in my city. Actually this restaurant had many branches here in my city, but the best one was located in little Tokyo area, Blok M.
THE OUTLOOK
The restaurant was located on LG floor Blok M Plaza, and here how it looked like when we came there at 11 am something.
It had an opened area blended with the shopping center and they limited their maximum capacity during the pandemic. You could see that they actually had more chairs and tables at the back of the restaurant. Some of the customers already there, OMG, It hadn’t lunch time yet.
THE MENU
They put the banner of their new menu outside..
In this restaurant, you should come to their order table to order and they hanged the menu on the top..
I would show their udon menu closer cause udon was their specialization.
The left one were the zaru udon, their new series, they also had chicken udon, beef udon, and also signature udon there.
We ordered our favorite Niku (beef) udon, the chef then measured the weight of a portion of udon then put in our bowls, then gave the topping on it. Aren’t they look tasty?
We also passed through the tempura show case (great thing was I got the points that in their application I redeemed to the voucher, it means we could get 3 tempura for free, HOORAY, great!).
Here was the voucher I told you, we got their kakiage, ebi tempura and chicken katsu for FREE!
All I needed to do just take them all then showed and redeemed the voucher in the cashier when I paid, just that simple.
THE PRICE
We paid first before we ate our lunch, it was just the price of two niku udon cause the tempura were all free. It was 124K IDR or around 8.6 USD for it, affordable. Don’t you think so?
We went to the condiment stall for some leaks, chilli and fried panko.
THE FOOD & THE LOOK
Looked so yummy and they put our food in Japanese oriental style bowls and also plates.. Kakiage wasn’t ready yet but they would deliver it to our table..
Only 5 minutes the kakiage also came, here how our complete lunch looked..
What we had were two bowls of niku udon, ebi tempura, chicken katsu and kakiage.
THE TASTE & THE FLAVOUR
Now the most important thing, taste and flavour…
NIKU UDON (BEEF UDON)
Super tasty in savory and a bit sweet. The noodle freshly made with chewy soft texture (it was so delicious somehow), and it had tasty sliced beef on the top plus soup. Here we added the sliced chilli and chilli powder to bring extra spicy flavour. We love the udon here much, I always finish the soup until last dip :9!
KAKIAGE
With crunchy soft texture, it contained many kind of vegetables here such as carrot, onion and others. Mom loved it much, it was one of her favorite, the tastiest one you could find here..
CHICKEN KATSU
It had chicken filling with panko flour outer, crispy but still soft, it had sweet flavour, not common for katsu’s flavour, don’t you think so?
EBI KATSU
One of my favorite shrimp, wrapped with crispy tempura flour as the skin… it had super tasty savory and natural sweet flavour from shrimp. Hmmh, one of the best!
They have the best UDON, and also TEMPURA here, so why don’t you come here too?
Thanks for reading my article, hope you enjoy it and stay tune for more CRAFT things from me!
