Hello, foodies!
Last thursday, we had our lunch in a small restaurant which was located in Gandaria I street, South Jakarta. The restaurant provided the authentic Indonesian Food which came from Central Java, gudeg.
The restaurant named 'Gudeg Pak Atmo' which looked modest from the outside.
The menu
Inside they hanged the menu on the wall.
And here was the menu on their menu book.
Like the name, of the restaurant, the speciality here was gudeg.
The dining area
The dining area was not large. It only had some tables and chairs, but it was clean and neat. It was not crowded even at around 12 am.
What we ordered
Mom chose their authentic gudeg, Nasi Gudeg Krecek.
It contained krecek (cow's skin cooked with tempeh, in an orange coconut soup), boiled jackfruit covered in coconut milk and of course rice. It also had a bit of cassava leaves in the middle of the jackfruit and krecek. The krecek were soft and delicious, it had savory flavour. The jackfruit were soft and sweet. The cassava leaves only boiles and had plain flavor, but it made all tasted good. And they made it from really high quality ingredients.
My order
I ordered gado-gado with rice. It had the same vegetables like in other gado-gado, and the vegetables were fresh. But i was so surprised they made the paste so strange and unusual, it was kind of pecel paste for me, really weird. It also had kencur smell. The taste was only sweet and a bit spicy.
The Price
When i saw the first time how modest the restaurant looked from outside, then we surprised about the price of the food here that we found in the menu. We bought nasi gudeg krecek, gado-gado with rice and an iced tea, then we had to pay 77,000 IDR altogether, or it's around 5.5 USD. It was expensive for a small restaurant like this!
But if you want to try the delicious authentic gudeg, you could come here
