Yesterday i took my mother to one of the best soto ambengan restaurant which was located near SCBD area, South Jakarta.
When we came at around lunch time, some customers already there before us.
They had a quite large dining area, it was clean and neat but without air conditioner. It usually designed without air conditioner so the soto could be a bit longer hot.
The Menu
They hanged the menus and also the prices at the back.
Here, they only sold soto ayam ambengan. Ambengan is a name of an area in Surabaya, central city in East Java. Ayam means chicken. Soto Ambengan always made from chicken.
After ordered, we only needed to wait around 10 minutes to get the food delivered to our table.
Here what we ordered
Both of us ordered the authentic soto ambengan with rice. Like usually it served hot, the chicken inside were tasty and tender, it also contained boiled egg and soun (soft white rice noodle). It had savory taste. We added the koya (authentic spice in soto ambengan which made from garlic), it tasted savory and tasty. We also added the lime and also spicy chilli sauce, so we had savory sour and spicy taste for this soto.
The Price
We paid 62,000 IDR or around 4.56 USD for the food and a glass of hot tea.
Of course we would come here again and i also invite you to try the authentic soto.
