Hello, Friends!

Christmas is nearby so I still on progress of making some Christmas décor for my home. Handmade things would be more delightful than the things we could by, right? The happiness is actually handmade and I love to make many useful cute things.. Like today, what I would share to you is the one that I made yesterday at home, Smiling Rudolph, the cutlery holder.

PROJECT TIME: approximately 4 hours

DIFFICULTY: Medium

SKILLS NEEDED:

  1. Stain stitch
  2. Blanket stitch
  3. Whipped stitch

MATERIALS & THINGS NEEDED:

  • Pencil
  • Ruler
  • Black marker
  • Sketch paper
  • Scissors
  • Felt fabrics in medium brown, brown, beige and red.
  • A red button
  • Embroidery fabrics in some colors such as brown, beige, red and black
  • Sewing needle
  • Dacron

HOW TO MAKE IT:

1ST

I started by measuring the spoon and fork I had, it would be around 10 cm for their holdings so I needed to make a bit smaller than it, I decided to make it around 8 cm for the head. Then I drew with the marker on a piece of unused thick paper I had. Cut it off then also cut the stags off too.

2ND

Then I copy transferred the head part to the medium brown fabric. The stag to the brown color fabric. For the head I needed to make two, and for the stags I made 4 pieces. Then I cut off the head part.

After that I also cut the stags, beiger for the nearly mouth and nose part. Look what I got now!

4TH

Next, I continued by sewing the red button as its’ nose then I hand embroidered the mouth with 4 strains of black floss. I then cut two tiny circles for its’ cheeks, I also sew it on the beige fabric. After that I sew the inside of ear parts with whipped stitch, for this part I used the beige fabric. I also sew the beige oval to the head part and filled it with the Dacron.

5TH

After finished, I closed it then I hand embroidered the close smiling eyes with 4 strains of black floss. Sew around the stags with brown double strains with the blanket stitch.

6TH

I did the same for another stag, then sew it on the top of the front head with stain stitch and finished around with the blanket stitch. Then, voila, the cute smiling Rudolph now could be put to hold my cutlery…
