Simple Heart (Granny) Coaster – easy DIY needlework crochet how to
Hello, friends especially needleworkers !
Recently I was curious about the heart coaster which made from granny square, so I tried and tried until the 3rd experience then I could do it well, well honestly quite well. Lol. Now let’s just jump to hoo I made it.
To make this project I used milky yarn in blue color, and also I used the 8 size of the crochet hook (or 5 mm).
First, I did the magic ring. How to make it was quite easy, x in the fingers, turned it around. Took the left yarn, pull then took from the yarn before it. Pull then release left hand. The magic ring was there. Of course I was just success in magic ring for my first and second attempt.
In my first attempt, it was finished but the yarn was not proper and looked messy.
Of course I didn’t satisfied with this result, so then I tried one more time, but it wasn’t success before it even finished.. So I released it and tried one more time. Lucky me, the 3rd attempt was succeeded. Now let me tell you the steps.
How to make it is to make a magic ring then chain 3 as its’ first double crochet. After that in the same magic ring I made 2 double crochet. Then, I made chain 3 and 3 double crochet to it, to another corner. After that I made chain 3, slipped stitch to the first stitch of the chain 3, slipped stitch to the top of double crochet then to the chain 3 space.
Then, I made chain 3 and 3 double crochet in the same space of the 3 chain. After that, in each space of the 3 chain, I made 3 double crochet, chain 3 and 3 double crochet. I made it for all of the corners. After that, slipped stitch to the top of the chain 3 and top of the 2 double crochet, after that slipped stitch to the chain 3 space. When it is finished, I chain 1.
After that I made 12 treble crochet for the space on its’ left. Slipped stitch to the middle of the top chain. Made another 12 treble crochet on the left. Last, slipped stitch to the space of the 3 chain.
I needed to cut the yarn, then I slipped it to the nearest stitch behind it and also trimmed the left over yarn.
Ta da, here it is, simple heart granny coaster. Isn’t it simple and cute?
