Hello, friends especially needleworkers!

Today i would like to share the project i made up yesterday, actually I made the cutting part on Saturday afternoon then continued to make the whole project yesterday, on a Sunday craft day. I made this cute fetl appliqué llama zippered pouch to put my crochet hooks so I wouldn’t lose them all… Now let’s follow me in how I made it..

Project Time: approximately 6-7 hours

Difficulty: Medium

Skills Needed:

  • running stitch
  • whipped stitch
  • blanket stitch

Materials & things needed:

  • unused thin cardboard/brochure for the pattern
  • marker
  • paper and craft scissors
  • felt fabrics in crème, bright brown, soft pink, medium pink, pink, soft blue, yellow, black, and green
  • sewing needle
  • embroidery floss
  • pink zipper around 18 cm long

How to make it:

1ST

I measured the soft pink felt fabric I had to have the same length as the zipper then I cut the fabric.

Then, I drew the llama pattern on the brochure, also the cactus then cut them off. Of course I made them smaller than the soft pink fabric because they would be appliquéd on the soft pink fabric. I then transferred the pattern to the crème for the llama, cut it off too.

3RD

I continued to make the llama parts, with crème, and medium pink to the inside ear areas.

After that I continued by cutting the light brown for the area of the mouth and nose. I also cut the pink for the heart nose then I cut off two black ovals for the eyes. Last, I also transferred the cactus.

5TH

I also cut it off then cut the blue fabric for the flower with the yellow circle in the middle. Now I already cut off all the parts.

6TH

What I did the next was joining them together. First I joined the nose to the brown felt. Then I did running stitch the brown felt and also whipped stitch the two tiny eyes and then embroidered the eyelashes.

7TH

Next I also whipped stitched the yellow middle part of the flower to the head of the llama (cloud like fur) and also I made the run stitches to join the medium pink felts in the ears.

8TH

Then I running stitched the cloud like to join it with the whole llama, then running stitch this cute llama on the pink fabric.

9TH

For the cactus, I made some cross stitches on it with yellow floss then I also did the running stitch to put it on the soft pink fabrics.

10TH

Now I joined it to the zipper with the running stitch with double pink floss. I did for the front part first then the back part.

11TH

Last, I blanket stitch both opened sides, right and also left.

VOILA, now this cute llama felt appliqué zippered pouch is well done. Now I could put all my hooks there, as you could see below. I am so happy with the result, how do you think of it?
