Hello, friends especially needleworkers in our community @needleworkmonday!
Trying any new crafts that required hand skills is always a new experience that would be both challenging and fun for me. So recently i tried to make macrame, a new experience for me and unfortunately i didn't have any macrame yarns at home so i tried my best to use my 4 mm soft brown yarn at home to make this project.
Challenging because i found difficulties in my yarn texture which was a bit leak and slippery. Well at least i tried my best to do it. Once i tried to make other object than leaf (now i forget what, haha, lol) but then i decided to make leaf which only needed one basic macrame knot. Ok well now just let's started..
Skills needed:
bullion knot
Project time:
around an hour
Difficulty:
supposed to be easy but a bit difficult for me :'
Materials & things needed:
- soft browm yarn
- measurement tape
- scissors
- bag hook
- optional: i also needed the rubber board and cellotape to help me to make knots
How i made it:
1st
I started by measuring the yarn. Then cut them off. I made a longest 36 cm, then 6 pieces of 18 cm, 4 pieces of 12 cm and 4 pieces of 9 cm. So the longest one is 36 cm while the shortest one is 9 cm.
2nd
I joined the longest yarn on the hook with the bullion knot, well please correct me if i wrong in mentioning this skill. Then i pasted the hook in my rubber board with the cellotape. After that i took 2 of the 18 cm yarns, then other same size yarns.
3rd
I then did the same for the other yarn pieces. Started from the longer to the shortest ones. After that i released the yarns then trimmed all of the yarns.
4th
Trimmed it until the leaf made up. Voila, this is it. The leaf macrame bag charm is just finished.
It would be prettier in cotton macrame thick yarn but it was quite nice. Right?
