Hello, friends especially needleworkers!

Today i would like to share about my first attempt in doing single crochets. Like you maybe already known recently i started to do crocheting. And finally i found perfect yarn for me as a beginner. Luckily i also have found a perfect tutorial too, so after that i tried to make the single crochets and now i would like to share to you all, in this article also i include my feeling while i was doing it, plus how happy i was, when later i finally also found a perfect crochet hook for me too, maybe it was kind of when Harry Potter found his magic wand, lol.

Okay now without anymore prologues, let me started. To make the single crochets, first i needed to make the slip knot.

First i made the X with yarn between my 3 fingers like below then i turned my left hand, took the left yarn over the right one, like below.. then i released my left hand and the slip knot already made up.

Then, i made 10 of the chains. Wrapped the yarn over my hook, then pulled it through the knot, then doing the others until 10 chains.

To make the single crochet, i skipped one chain then pulled my hook through the chain's hole, then pulled the yarn through this hole. Now that i got two hole of yarn over my hook then my job was pulling the yarn all over the two holes.

I repeated the same process, until the other side, then i pulled the yarn, put it over the hole then i turned my crochet around. I then continued the process until it was also getting full until the other side. And here what i got.. how do you think of it, needleworkers? Did i succeed?

When i did the crochet what i felt that it was a little bit difficult to pull the yarn, it was too tight.. the tension was also too high. And based on a friend here in this community @neumannsalva, it might because the hook that i used was to small. So i then ordered the larger hook online, and i also tried to order a different kind of hook one.

And guess what, few days after my first attempt of single crochets, finally the crochet hook i had been waiting for, arrived! What's different compared to the other hooks i already have is the handle, it made from soft silicone rubber.. the hook also made from another steel. When i first used it, i tried it on a bit difficult yarn, the chunky one, guess what? When i tried to use the hook, it was just correct, the weight, the size, and also the tension.. and then i tried to crochet some metres of chains, sorry that i haven't reached 10 metres like your suggestion @jicrochet, but at least i did practising :).

And now i am trying to look for easy projects to do, please suggestions from you all, any ideas of really easy projects for me?
