Going back to New Zealand, one of the first things I wanted to do (inspired by the nice warm weather!), was get outside and start taking pictures! After the -5 degrees of Seoul, it was quite a nice change to feel the warmth of summer again!
I stayed at a family members house for a few days and luckily for me, the house has all sorts of plants and creatures to be taking photos of. Sometimes I hardly feel like taking photos... Sometimes I really do want to take photos. This was one of those times!

As always, there are tons and tons of Monarch Butterflies out and about! I miss seeing these little insects flying around when I'm in Korea! They make the summer feel so calming and relaxing. Also, they must be one of the most beautiful 'common' butterflies around! :D

In saying that though, you have to be a little careful as they tend to land anywhere and everywhere. You have to look out where you stand or sit or risk possibly crushing one!

Looking at the pictures above, this must have been the same butterfly? But I don't really remember stalking it... Not too sure!

And bees! So many bees! (for reasons you will soon see). I tried so hard to get a nice photo of the bees up close (and in focus...) but the perfect shot just always eludes me. I can never seem to get the right place in focus... But I shall keep trying! Here were my attempts anyway :)

The home of all the bees! I think it's a really cool idea to have beehives, and especially in the middle of the city where there otherwise could quite possibly be a lack of bees. They don't cause any harm, but bring many benefits to the environment. I'm not scared of bees, but taking this picture scared me just a tad!

And finally some nice cactus flowers that I found! I forgot how nice summer could be, and how much life lives around us! But just a 30 minute walk around the garden taking pictures quickly reminded me of how much surrounds us!
