"'I really love America. I just don't know how to get there anymore." --- John Prine

Saturday before last was No Kings 4.0 and Louisville wasn't about to miss out on the occasion, with several hundred turning out to line Frankfort Avenue.

The mayor was having his pickleball festival that no one asked for downtown in the usual protest spot, and the local 50501 chapter seems to have lapsed into inactivity, but other local groups come together to put on the demonstration.

Congressman Morgan McGarvey joins activist and organizer Robbey Taylor in leading chants.

This edition of No Kings didn't draw quite the same numbers as previous ones had, but it still drew a crowd, along with the local Congressman. The focus this time around was on getting out the vote, particularly the early vote, in the upcoming midterm elections.

Came away with the impression that a good portion of the crowd was expecting the anticipated 'blue wave' in the midterms to make things right, or at least move the needle in that direction. Personally, my money's on that being when the crazy really starts.

Up until now, the regime's had a compliant Congress to intermittently rubber stamp its actions. When that's no longer the case is when the middling constitutional crisis that's been brewing for the past two years transforms into a full blown inflection point. What happens when Congress says no and the regime does it anyway?

If France is any indicator, Gen Z is fed up, us millennials made Luigi a folk hero and have taken to selling guillotine earrings on Etsy, and even the old veterans are out protesting, really feels like this country is primed for a showdown. Y'all make sure to get your popcorn, it should be a good show, just don't forget to duck & cover.
