Open and empty

Whoot, that was tasty and sadly very quickly gone. See the empty bottle and the bottle cap.

A huge head

This "Belgian wheat Ale" comes with a lot of energy to build such a huge head. It took me a while to get all the beer into the glass

The taste

Have a look to ratebeer.com and read about the Curtius beer

Golden, tall white head. Lime, honey and white pepper. Orange and silantro. Some notes of salt and sea. Probably a perfect seafood beer.

Corked and caged bottle 37.5cl. home@home poured into a tumbler – a lot of yeast particles in the bottle, so pouring out had to be done carefully. Sour nose. Slightly unclear medium amber colour, small stable frothy white head, gradually diminishing to a thin layer, fair lacing. Sour aroma, overripe apples, yeast, light vinegar. Smooth taste, onset is light sweet and sour, apples, yeast, herbal notes, in the middle part taste becomes mild sweet and bitter, light sourish notes, apples and yeast, continues in aftertaste, light prickly mouth, oily texture, average carbonation. Interesting brew but the taste evolution from a mild sweet and sour beer into a almost regular Belgian blond is somewhat disappointing, nevertheless easy to drink and all in all quite nice.

The brewery

Have a look to the brewery which is located in Liege in east Belgium.

They say:

Curtius is a blond beer brewed from top quality products, with a light taste and refreshing flavours.

Composed of different barley and wheat malts, its base gives it a pleasant lightness while the blend of aromatic hop flowers gives it a subtle bitter, flowery and fruity flavor. Its unique and evolving taste is the result of several fermentation stages, carried out over several months.
