The holidays are over in Venezuela, so many families have used these last few days for outings before returning to work; that is why, last week, my family and I went to Mochima—one of the most beautiful towns in Sucre state and, without a doubt, home to the best beaches in the eastern part of the country.
Las vacaciones han terminado en Venezuela, por lo que muchas familias han aprovechado estos últimos días para hacer salidas antes de volver al trabajo; es por eso que, la semana pasada, mi familia y yo fuimos a Mochima, una de las localidades más hermosas del estado Sucre y, sin duda, el lugar donde se encuentran las mejores playas de la zona oriental del país.
We went specifically to Las Maritas Beach—one of the most popular spots—which, thanks to its shallow waters, is ideal for the whole family. Since we wanted to have a pleasant day, we brought everything we needed: food, snacks, sunscreen, and, of course, a cooler full of ice-cold beers—perfect for sharing and enjoying with friends.
Fuimos específicamente a la playa Las Maritas —uno de los lugares más populares—, que, gracias a sus aguas poco profundas, es ideal para toda la familia. Como queríamos pasar un día agradable, llevamos todo lo necesario: comida, aperitivos, protector solar y, por supuesto, una nevera portátil llena de cervezas bien frías, perfectas para compartir y disfrutar con amigos.
We decided to bring Polar Light. The case of beer cost us $24 and contained 36 returnable bottles. We packed the cooler with ice and the 36 bottles, then headed to the beach. With an alcohol content of just 3.5%, this beer is perfect for the country's warm climate and for having a fun time with friends. Although it isn't strong—and perhaps a bit bland—it is very refreshing and ideal for those who dislike the bitterness found in some beers.
Decidimos llevar cerveza Polar Light. La caja nos costó 24 dólares y contenía 36 botellas retornables. Llenamos la nevera portátil con hielo y las 36 botellas, y luego nos dirigimos a la playa. Con una graduación alcohólica de apenas el 3,5 %, esta cerveza es perfecta para el clima cálido del país y para pasar un buen rato con amigos. Aunque no es fuerte —y tal vez resulte un poco insípida—, es muy refrescante e ideal para quienes no disfrutan del amargor característico de algunas cervezas.
We had an incredible day. I’m the kind of person who believes a day at the beach can reset your soul. There, facing the sea, problems are forgotten—and when you have a beer in hand, you feel like the universe is working in your favor.
