Hello Hive friends, happy day as always I hope you are well, these days I have been doing a little research on drugs and I was curious to know which was the most dangerous and deadly drug, obviously focused on the recreational use of the substance, it was a question that had been going around and around in my head for some time, so when I decided to investigate I did it in an organized way, the first thing I did was investigate drug by drug and in this way see elements such as death rates, overdose , risks and dangerousness, in the end I managed to reach a conclusion that was very obvious from the beginning, and that is that the same substance is so harmful, addictive and dangerous that among all other drugs it is the winning substance by a wide and notable difference, without a doubt I am referring to opioids, it is that this type of drug has done so much damage among the population in general and is so normalized in such a great way that little by little it leads to the same ruin and misery (if it doesn't kill you before), it seemed to me something so shocking that, without a doubt, I wanted to try to write a little and try to share it with you in the least cumbersome way possible, I will start in a general way and as the posts go by I will go deeper More on the matter, I hope you like this first part, without anything else to add let's start:

En primer lugar ¿que es un opiáceo? / First of all, what is an opiate?

It refers to the substances obtained from the poppy plant specifically of the genus Papaver somniferum L. It is a flower with a fat and heavy texture that when cut "sweats" a milk, this milk is collected and basically all the opioids come from there, although there are completely synthetic opiates, later in the post I will investigate more about it.

En segundo lugar ¿qué es un opioide? / Second, what is an opioid?

This question is very complex to answer, so I will try to do it in the simplest and most basic way possible, opioids are receptors that we have in the central nervous system naturally but that are somehow deactivated, when we introduce substances that contain opioids in their composition, what we basically do is activate these receptors and that generates different and varied effects in the body, it is a very simplified way of looking at it, but essentially it is that.

/Third place, what are the effects of opioids?

In general, it is used for its analgesic and sedative properties, that is, it eliminates pain in general, as well as providing, depending on the type of opioid, relaxation, a feeling of happiness and a lot of pleasure, in short, a range of "euphoric" effects on the body. .

/Fourth place. In what state are opioids available?

There are 3 classes of opioids, natural, semi-synthetic and synthetic, in this post I will focus on synthetics breaking down semi-synthetic and synthetic for later:

Los naturales: / The natural ones:

● Opium: It is like the most "natural" version of the poppy plant, as I mentioned earlier, this plant has a thick flower which is cut with the help of blades so that it begins to release a white latex and milky color, said substance is collected, allowed to dry and turns a crystalline amber color, its effects although it is usually consumed orally or in infusions such as tea, the most common and best known way of doing it is by smoking it in a pipe, diluting it in water and heating to evaporate said water, its effects are relaxation and a lot of sleep, small itching is noticed in the body, pain is no longer felt and sensory sensations increase, as the effect wears off you feel more and more relaxation Until the effect completely disappears, the entire experience lasts approximately 4-5 hours.

● Morphine: This is an opiate with quite powerful analgesic effects, it was the first substance to be isolated from the poppy plant and in fact its name comes from the Greek god of dreams Morpheus, it was first isolated Once by Friedrich Sertürner in December 1804 and although it is usually obtained in prolonged release pills, the most common way of using it is by injecting it intravenously, its use is mainly medical for intense pain caused by, for example, post-surgical pain, pain caused by terminal illnesses, pain caused by blows and intense traumas, it is generally used when the patient feels too intense pain, its effect begins 10 to 15 min once applied and its total duration is approximately 4-6 hours.

● Codeine: This opiate, like all opiates in general, is usually used to relieve pain. It is basically the mild version of morphine since they have similar effects and applications, but for less severe or intense pain conditions such as headaches. back, pain from injuries or minor blows, which is why it is more popular to be administered in pills, curiously, it also works effectively against cough and diarrhea, its effect begins 30-40 minutes after having consumed it and the whole experience has a total duration of 4-6 hours.

Before saying goodbye, I would like to emphasize that as the posts go by I will begin to talk in a little more depth and thus gradually get to why I consider opioids to be the most destructive and dangerous family of drugs, but for now I wanted to start explain in general, I hope you liked this first part, thanks for stopping by, see you in the next post, until next time.
