When my wife and I were in St George for her work party, we saw the coolest donut shop ever. It is called Pinkbox Donuts and it is originally out of Las Vegas, but this St George location just barely opened. One of my wife's coworkers highly recommended we try this place out, so we knew we needed to stop here on the way home and get some donuts for the road.
The first thing you notice when you pull in is the pink colored building that stands out apart from anything else in the area. The marketing team for Pinkbox really knows what they are doing and how to get people to pay attention to their stuff. They even have a social media corner to take pictures and tag them with cool wall paper and a little pink swirl thing that looks like the poop emoji but pink.
They have a huge assortment of donuts there from glazed to sprinkled, to even some really cool combinations. One of them that I wanted to try was a Blueberry Cheesecake one with white chocolate chips in the icing and it is filled with cheesecake filling. I decided not to get that one because we were getting a donzen donuts already and I knew if I ate this one and had another donut or two, I would feel pretty sick.
They had some interesting styles there that I wasn't sure how good they would be. They had several vegan ones that I am sure taste pretty bad and they are extremely expensive compared to the others. Imagine paying $7.50 for one vegan donut and it tastes horrible. Even the $1.50 or so for the regular donuts is pretty high, but there is no way I would pay $7.50 for a nasty ass vegan donut.
We ended up getting an assortment of sprinkled donuts and a package of their donut holes. They were decent, but not the best donuts I have ever had. I am sure that the specialy donuts are pretty good, but the cake is a bit dry. I did find out that microwaving them for 10 seconds does make the cake seem a bit more moist and taste better. So I am sure if these donuts are fresh out of the fryer, they could be pretty tasty.
I don't think I will be making another stop out to this donut shop again. They weren't amazing and my wife and I don't really like donuts and sweets like we used to. It took us a couple days to finish the donuts we got and I actually threw the last couple away. Even though the donuts weren't the best, this was still the coolest little donut shop I have ever been to.
