Things are progressing each day in the grow tent. Each day I go in there and all three of the plants have made growth over the previous day. It isn't much each day, but it all adds up, especially with the longer flower times that photoperiods have compared to autoflowers.
The White Widow is packing on the weight and is really going to be a monster soon. The buds are super thick and dense compared to the structure of the two other strains.
The AK47 isn't as thick as the White Widow, but the buds are packed with trichomes and super sticky. I am hoping that they get more dense over the next couple weeks because I am not a fan of trimming airy buds.
The bud structure of the AK47 reminds me of the Red Poison I grew over a year or so ago, except the Red Poison has a dark red color to it. This one has a really odd smell to it that I am trying to decide if I like it or not. It has a skunky/earthy smell with a hint of spice in it. It is a weird combination.
I am getting some discoloration in the leaves of the AK47 and White Widow. I am not sure if this is just the leaf fade starting or if it is a nutrient deficiency beginning to show, but at this moment, I am not too worried about it. Leaves tend to yellow during the last weeks of flower as the plants begin to pull all nutrients out of the leaves and use it for bud production.
The color is a lot like fall when the leaves on trees begin to change as the trees begin to store energy for the winter. Soon the entire tent will be full of different fall colors.
I haven't been sharing any pictures of the Purple Haze because it is shorter than the two other plants and I don't like the way the pictures look when the net is right in the middle of the buds. The Purple Haze has some thick buds on it though and it is going to be a great plant. The bud structure is a lot like the AK47 above, but the buds have a lot more weight to them.
The AK47 has been an odd one to grow. I will have to try it again in the future and see if it has the same structure as this one that was a bit deformed from the start. I am not too worried about the weight I will get off of this plant because of the rocky start that it had. I am hoping that the effects of this strain are what they should be and it isn't messed up because of how it started. All I know is that this is a super frosty strain, so I have high hopes for it.
Only a few more weeks until these are ready. How much fatter will they get? Only time will tell. Slow and steady wins the race.
