I have waited a long time for the fruits of the flower to turn into beautiful black berries to make this delicious and extremely refreshing jam.
We call it baby balm because when a child gets hold of this, it disappears very, very quickly due to the juiciness of the taste .
This is what it looked like a month ago on July 8, 2021.
the berries are still green enough and you have to wait
and wait for them to ripen and remain on the bunch of flowers
they do not ripen all at once except that the birds like to eat them, the wind and storms throw them away and reduce the number on the bunch
Still on this tree from my real life friend and friend at HIVE @borjan whose tree he has for now and I hope that there will be a good amount left for making jam and see you in a month. Of course it must not rain before abundant and there must be sun and a full moon.
He he I am a bit demanding but it is nice and interesting and I hope it is delicious .
Here I am after a long wait now it's July 29, 2021.
I came to #borjan to pick the fruits because they are ripe enough and they stayed after the strong wind storms, which were few but badly strong.
I started the action of collecting berries in a pot one by one and #borjan quietly approached and photographed me
here I slowly removed the berries to keep them whole , not to burst gently and carefully
it looks like this
it's great it's important to be gentle and in the shade it's still about 31 C ° 12:21 h in the middle of summer and it's warm in the shade
The question is ... what do I do with those twigs on those berries !!!???
ze berries have something in themselves something that must live
I took those beautiful grape twigs put on berries and pecan spiders and insects to take them out to live on
like this young insect ( Lat . Rhaphigaster nebulosa )we call it stinky martin and if you accidentally put it in your mouth and accidentally bite it while greedily eating wild wild fruits that are extremely tasty,
Then you will have an extremely unpleasant taste and even a smell in your mouth that it is difficult to remove if you do not relax and continue to eat because water does not help.
But that is not a topic, but just to save him, let him live on, let him enjoy nature
and so berry by berry separation from the stalk
it looks easy but still takes time
this is wrinkled - cleaned
for now there are still some on the tree
but also in a pot
little #borjan fingers look at how soft or hard the berries are because they were nicely and thickly kneaded
as they crackle
yet they were gathered at least by this
I left a lot on the tree so that the birds have something to eat
and the insects that graze that beautiful black berry on a wide bunch
A little about the healing properties of this fruit and plant .
Elderberry( Lat . Sambucus nigra )
The whole plant is medicinal ; root, bark, leaf, flower and fruit .
elderberry products excrete water from the body that it is suitable for weight loss, relieves thirst, cures burning in the eyes, is not used for dog bites and there is more ...
this is now ready for preparation and washing and the berries are used to make eight marmalades, jellies or brandies and the healing properties of ore products are as mentioned above, there is more
soak them a little to lift the twigs or some buck luckily so there are none except the stalk which I gently pull out
then another round ,
there are things I will put in the berries, the density is squeezed a little of the mixture and the cane sugar , and very little citric acid powder , the same process soak clean
I put everything washed back in the pot
a whole bag of sugar and at the end when it boiled it I added the thickener and a little citric acid
put in jars and in the fridge to rest for a day
this is what it looks like today
color great
tastes good
however, it needs a little more to be too good
hard to resist your taste which is a little sweeter a little sour but complex that it is sweet and very refreshing with a gentle acidity
I have to stop eating it all
that smell is tempting
I have to stop to greet you at HIVE with a couple of photos, and a couple of lines of text and my process of preparing jam, which I call delicious, and I don't know the name of that product, except for Bazga berry jam.
Greetings to all that would be it for now .
