Mango in fruition stage
Towards the middle of October, our mango tree started flowering which signifies that the mango fruiting soon.
By the end of October, mangoes are already appearing on the tree. It's a norm because our mango usually sow seed twice a year. It will start around October then continue to march or April in the following year.
The ones that sow during harmattan usually come out fresh but smaller in size compared to the one weused to pluck after harmattan season starting from February. I was so excited because I am at home this time to taste fresh mangoes from our home garden this season. Last few years, I was still in school then so I missed a lot.
Before December we will start eating mangoes. I will definitely share the updates with hivegardeners.
Beans podding
My mum and I planted beans in late August and here it is, podding already.
Raining stopped since first week of october. The sun had become scorching and leaves are drying up gradually. The beans are already podding but it's leaves is getting dried due to the high intensity of the sunlight. I wish the sun is nice on my poor beans.
While checking the condition of the beans yesterday morning, I noticed thrips on some of the beans, "it's a dangerous pest that destroys beans at the early stage if podding.
They are dark tiny insects that sucks sap from beans leaves, flowers and pods which usually cause poor pod development, silver patches and curling. We are going to spray insecticides as soon as possible or get exact chemical that can kill it before it's too late. I hope my beans germinates well.
I don't have have any idea how to go about it naturally but your opinions are welcome 🙏🙏
