Slept from around nine to about four thirty this morning for another hour and a half short. I wasn’t woken up, though, so I don’t know what the deal was. 😢 Didn’t drag too hard, though, so I guess it’s alright.

Not a lot to note about the usual morning routine other than all the normal stuff including losing even more (amazingly) on Polygon. Cryptos looked ugly. BTC broke below $40k and HIVE, not so be outdone, dropped by nearly eight percent! 😱 We’ll see…maybe a shakeout before a run up? Time will tell.

Worked on my post for the day and got all my stuff together for heading in for teaching today. I have to admit, though, that the stress levels were a bit high since I didn’t have a solid plan of what to teach today. We’re more or less done except for reviewing for the final, and hardly anybody actually showed up. 😂

Regardless, I decided to teach Algebra about fractional reserve banking and their straw man to show them the door of the Matrix and then walked them through a budget/retirement plan (to “win” within the rules - ultimately the bank wins, but you can do a little planning and a little math to help to minimize your losses). We’d talked about it before in the context of exponential functions, but I kind of went through it really fast and threw a bunch of numbers at them.

Today I walked them through how to use their salary to back-calculate the house they can “afford,” showed them that if they paid double the simple interest they’d pay the house off in ten years and if they continued to invest for another ten years they could retire early and live off the interest…trying to drive home that Algebra really isn’t useless, and those who say it is are likely up to their eyeballs in debt.

Let them out pretty early and headed out to the car for lunch. It was snowing like crazy, though, and even out in the parking lot I couldn’t get a signal. I did finally get enough of a signal to watch a little bit of YouTube, killed some time, and then headed back in for Calculus.

We did have a proper class in calculus though today. We covered “work” problems, Which is an application of the definite integral, and are actually quite involved story problems. We did go off the rails a little bit talking about, oh I can’t remember, astrophysics of some kind again…solar flares and stuff…oh yeah! Error bars set me off on the newest measurement of gravity being more than one percent off the theoretical prediction (and past measurements) causing a bit of a crisis in physics right now.

We did a bunch of example problems, though, some with springs, some with him pumping oil or water out of various shaped tanks, and some with lifting up chains…even one launching a satellite against Earth’s gravity. 🤓

I hung around for a little bit with some students that stayed after and then headed back home. The drive back was smooth, no problem, and I got back right around five.

Wenche was off of work today, so she was already making dinner when I got home. She made us some sausages with bacon and some veggies and smashed potatoes and we watched some of the Obama National Parks specials.

After dinner I watched a documentary about SafeMoon and all the chicanery that went on with that nonsense. I did lose a little money on that one, only like 40 bucks though (that was another “solid” investment suggestion over on the ManCave 🤪). I didn’t realize how bad it actually was, and how much of a scam it was from the start…looks like they’ve got some lawsuits going, but I’m not expecting to get anything back from that. Should have looked into it better rather than listening to people in a Discord server.

I played some Splinterlands for a while and when I came back to the couch, she was watching Lords of Metal. So, for the second time in line three days I watched that again. Good music, though, and entertaining, so I didn’t mind.

That was about it for the day. Ended up getting to bed fairly late again, around nine or so.

[I’ve been experimenting today with the voice typing function function, it works pretty well, but I’m not sure if I’m used to it yet. Not sure if I’m actually saving enough time versus just typing it out when I have to go back and correct and I forgot the words that weren’t correctly recognized. I’m not going to edit this edit delete so you can see how well it’s actually going. Thinking that it might be a timesaver in the long run though.]:-) :-)

At this point, I guess my major dShitty consolation is that the numbers are irrelevant. It still says -35 and I still got 6 despite the differing “effects” of different crime and crises occurring.

Went in once or twice today on Rising Star. Nothing interesting going on except for getting another series of endless drunks. Not sure what my Ego actually is right now, so I just kept on with missions.

I was gone pretty much all day for teaching, so not much opportunity to sit down and spend the half hour plus to do like six actions on the computer. I guess I have to or else the plants will die and the last week will be wasted…still need to do a time to break even analysis.

I think, to be fair, that the HiveSigner error is HiveSigner’s fault and not theirs, got it on a different site trying to do something else (although, if I could get anything other than just a blank page through Keychain, it wouldn’t be a problem in the first place).

Finished out my quest from yesterday and had every intention of getting caught up with them today, but the suckness continues.

It was getting late again already and so I didn’t bother even trying to get back to Gold II before finishing the quest. The rewards were absurd:

I got Sneak for today’s quest, which gave me a bit of flexibility with splinters, and I even had a bit of a win streak to put me just over the line (back to where I was fu$&ing reset to 🤬), but of course I just kept losing back out.

Got fed up and quit. Was going to finish it up this morning, only need one more win, but I totally have zero desire to deal with it.

My drop was stable for the third or fourth day in a row! 👍 Just staked it for now, and glad to see that they seem to be holding the three pennies they gained the other day. 😁

No moves with vouchers today, but between adding THGaming to the pool and buying some tokens here and there, I’m quickly plowing through that liquid I had (seems to be the case often), so been keeping an eye on the market. Pulled back a little today, but still looking pretty good around $2.
