Well! I hope you like my little play on the words in the title of my post! Let's start off with some photos of those pretty Alpine Aster flowers that I photographed a couple of weeks ago. I only showed two photos of them but I did take a few more than that.
I saw the Alpine Asters while at a Home Depot and decided to go back and pick one up for my garden but, low and behold, they were sold out!
Oh well! There are worse things in life then missing out on getting Alpine Asters.
My husband was going to take me to visit another nursery to see if they had them but things happen...like a car accident on Father's Day. A terrible ending to an otherwise very nice day. Now as far as dis-asters go, I would say it wasn't the worst because we were all able to walk away from it thank goodness. I think in life that people suffer much worse dis-asters in the way of natural disasters like tornadoes, earthquakes, fires and more. Let me bring you up to date on our little disaster. My husband had the truck towed to our driveway to collect our belongings out of it and swap out the rims and tires. I know you guys out there can probably relate to that tire part. I can too since I know how expensive they were. Since he travels a lot and in all kinds of weather, tires are one thing that he makes sure that he gets some very good ones. The insurance adjuster came and didn't even get up to the truck before saying: "yep, it's totaled!". We pretty much knew it so that wasn't a surprise. He also knows that my husband is putting the original rims and tires back on it.
The accident happened when a man pulled out about thirty feet in front of us. It was his fault and the insurance, which is the same that we have, confirmed officially that the other driver was at fault. Once we hit him then it pushed us into a telephone pole. I went by ambulance to the hospital and my husband and son went to Patient First. No broken bones thankfully but plenty of pain, bumps and bruises. I went yesterday for my first follow-up with my primary doctor and he gave me pain medication. Don't worry..I won't get addicted to them as I'm very aware of that and am very careful to take it minimally. I have major bruising on my chest, stomach, and hips. Additionally, I have bruising on my knees, right hand, neck and arms. The last two days have been painful but I know it is only temporary. I did get a half way decent night sleep last night too. Needless to say that I will not be going to buy any Alpine Asters anytime soon or anything for that matter. My son has to go for more tests and see an orthopedic doctor. My husband has some pain and minor bruising. If his shoulder pain doesn't improve by our next follow-up then he may have to see a specialist. I'm able to use the computer so so long as I keep my hand in a certain position. Sitting completely straight is less painful that sitting relaxed in a chair and lying down. I still go upstairs to my bedroom a lot since Friendly (my cat) likes to jump on my chest to try to lay down..ouch. Friendly is not doing so good so I try not to get too upset with her and she doesn't know that it hurts me right now. I'm not gonna show any photos of my bruising cause the worst is in places that I would rather not show. So, I'll end with one last photo of the Aster and not the dis-aster! Take care and maybe tomorrow or Sunday I will have a different kind of update for you! 馃槈
