Do pół godziny oczekiwania.

No bo jak to?

After a quite cool and humid day spent at the beach parking lot, yesterday I planned a trip to one of the most isolated beaches on the island. So far I have been able to perfectly balance active rest and sunbathing. Tenerife is the perfect location for such a combination. I haven't been before to a place where in one day I can be at an altitude of 800m above sea level and then go into the ocean. The sunrise woke me up in the morning. The sun rays penetrated my car through the middle of the windshield, even though I didn't plan it while parking my car.

Soon after, I went to one of the mountainous villages and I was able to find the nearest convenience store. There were 3 customers in front of me and nobody was in a hurry. I had enough time to examine the store decorations before it was my turn. I am slowly practicing my Spanish.

I made spaghetti on my camping stove and by 11 I was ready to hit the road. I had prepared an offline map in the OsmAnd application, which I have been testing lately. It works quite well on this type of trip. I also read some tips about the route on a random blog earlier. The trail disappears from time to time, be careful when descending to the beach, generally a very attractive route with a imtetmediate level of difficulty. Am I on intermediate level? Hard to say. A little over a month ago I landed in the hospital with saturation threatening health. Yellow code. A half-hour wait. That's what they marked me for in the Emergency Room. On the other hand, I have some hiking experience. No need to think too much about it, I'm going.

The views are great, the trail is unmarked but can be tracked, and it requires the use of all four limbs at times. I stumbled upon a dead end a few times, but after a moment, I turned back and was back on the trail. Wildlife? Wild goats, rabbits, lizards, bees. Flora? Succulents, opuntia, agaves and endemic cactus-like Euphorbia Canariensis, found only on the Canary Islands.

Along the way, I met two tourist couples walking in the opposite direction, who did not reach the beach, discouraged by the clouds forming in the sky. After about 3.5 hours and covering approximately 11 km, I reached my destination and descended onto a completely deserted beach. It was almost a surreal experience. How can that be? Are we in the mountains or by the sea? The waves were big enough for me not to go deeper into the water than waist-deep. I'm an average swimmer, I can not drown, but I still fear the ocean, especially in such a remote place, and I did not want to risk it.

On the way back, it was already clear that the good weather would not last until evening. Clouds were gathering more and more, but the wind also increased, so I picked up my pace, charged with a portion of pasta and refreshed by washing my body. The part of the route closest to the ocean was the most rocky and I did not want rain to catch me there. In some places, just one false step and a fall into the abyss would be inevitable.

And when over 2/3 of the return journey was behind me, it started raining lightly, in combination with the strong wind, very unpleasant conditions for hiking were created. Fortunately, I never felt threatened, I passed the hardest part with dry feet. Just one last stage through the forest and I reached the car with a sense of fulfillment and joy. I like it here.
