“I mean, it's just an estimate, but, I figure we're gonna need at least $5,000 to get Grayson enough Legos to build a moon rocket, so while I'm grounded, Vertran, I've been thinking about how we crowd-fund this.”

Nine-year-old Milton Trent was occupying his latest stint of being grounded productively, and his nine-year-old first cousin Vertran Stepforth, already a media mogul of sorts on YouTube and Threespeak, listened supportively before saying, “But Milton, you can't crowd-fund your way off the ground when grounded. We probably need to take some of that $5,000 and figure out how you do bail on house arrest at home first.”

“Oh, yeah, that part,” Milton said. “Well, I probably gotta throw another $1,000 on it.”

“I think the problem may actually be my Uncle Vincent, your dad,” Vertran said. “He's definitely one of those untouchable types that can't be bribed.”

“Yeah, see, I have a bunch of Trent cousins who would play ball,” Milton said, “but see, you gotta pick your problems out here. Dad is either doing military stuff or is at home, period – even when he and Mom were divorced, he still was coming and hanging out with us so much and taking us over to his apartment so much that we had two homes for real.”

“Yeah, I mean he was co-parenting and still co-uncleing up a storm – Big Mama Velma always said Uncle Vincent had a plan, just like she did,” Vertran said.

“And so, this is the thing: I'd rather have incorruptible warden Dad that we can't bribe than be with any of the cousins we could, because, as my sister Vanna is always saying, when they are not in jail, they are for the streets.”

“Well, that's another $1,000 we save for the moon rocket,” Vertran said. “The way gas is going up nowadays, we'll probably need that for fuel costs.”

“Yeah, because you gotta have unleaded premium for a rocket – too much weight with the leaded stuff,” Milton said, “and unleaded premium is always high, but this is good: the moon is high, too.”
