“Hey – someone has run up on Capt. Ludlow at the store and it's up on Uppity Foolery Watch, Vertran!”

“I'm on it, Tom!”

What 16-year-old Tom and brother nine-year-old Vertran Stepforth knew was known by all eight Ludlow grandchildren in about two seconds flat because of the wonders of technology …

“Let's all go to George's room so he can see how Papa handles himself!” eight-year-old Edwina said to eleven-year-old Eleanor Ludlow.

“I'm on it,” Eleanor said.

“So, how do y'all get to all this so fast?” Mrs. Thalia Ludlow said as she just fell into the movement of her grandchildren to George's room while marveling how Eleanor had gotten around the child protection facilities on her phone.

“So, the way UFW works is, it has sub-feeds, because there are a lot of dumb upper-class families in Lofton County that are not handling the pandemic well,” Eleanor said. “Glendella's Grumps and Bad Grandma got the Ludlows on it, but Papa has his own sub-sub-feed because Papa showing up at political rallies and other dumber folks walking up on him has earned him that.”

“And that's how it is showing up on your phone,” Mrs. Ludlow said, with a laugh. “Robert Edward Ludlow Sr. is your grandfather, and he did most of the programming, and did not think to exclude himself... .”

“And it's cool because Papa knows we are watching,” Eleanor said. “He keeps it G-rated, but see, Papa's G-rated is still not what you want.”

“The no-profanity takedowns are actually harder than just getting knocked out,” ten-year-old Glendella said. “At least you don't have to hear it when you are knocked out. Upgrade Papa sure showed Grumps: G-rated does not mean weak!”

“This is so healing to me,” eight-year-old Edwina said, “because knowing Papa is out here dealing with these people means I don't have to break bad any more, but can actually be a sweet little girl someday.”

“Yeah, because, yeah!” seven-year-old Amanda said as she wrapped her arms around Edwina.

“Man, this is some entertainment, but it is also scary,” George said. “I see I need to get my life all the way together, because I am not trying to get beyond being grounded and having Papa talk like this to me.”

“All Cousin Tiberius had to do was mind his own business and this wouldn't happen,” six-year-old Grayson said. “It's not like Papa went to find him.”

“Because Papa,” five-year-old Lil' Robert said.

Sure enough … Cousin Tiberius slipped, tripped, and fell backward after hearing this:

“Listen, Tiberius, you must have thought you were the emperor, not the hybrid of a milquetoast and a mouse that you are in the spirit, with your whole five-feet-five inches and maybe 140 pounds squaring up on me like I would bother to explain how I even thought you were a threat before claiming PTSD and breaking you in half.”

Mrs. Ludlow put her head in her hands.

“Yep, that hurt from here,” George said.

“5,000 views and counting,” Eleanor said. “G-rated, but deadly!”

Ten-year-old Andrew went to the window.

“Hey, Vertran!” he said.

“Yeah!”

“I need you to get Tom to get his friends at Uppity Foolery Watch to run a crawler on my grandfather's sub-sub feed real quick for my 9-2-2 service: 'Messing with Robert Edward Ludlow Sr. can be hazardous to your health!'”

“I'm on it!”
