“So, the thing is, what we want to do is use what the snake and the spider know to help us get more goodies into our diets while staying healthy.”

Sgt. Vincent Trent put his head in his hand as Mrs. Melissa Trent started laughing at their nine-year-old son Milton and his best friend nine-year-old George Ludlow.

“No, just hear us out – it does make sense when you really think about it,” George said after Milton's statement.

“So, snakes and spiders inject the poison through their bites – they have hollow teeth, like needles,” Milton said. “So, we could eat more goodies and have more stomach space if we just inject the vitamins and minerals – if it works for poison it should work for anything right?”

“No,” Sgt. Trent said. “If you did that, without digesting and breaking down most vitamins and minerals, they would act like poison in your bloodstream.”

Milton and George looked at each other.

“Wait a minute,” Milton said. “This is another opportunity.”

“I mean, it would be dangerous,” George said, “but, there are so many spiders around we would save so much money on buying vitamins if we just could find a way to milk them!”

Mrs. Trent doubled over laughing

“No, Mom, it really does make sense when you think about it,” Milton said. “I mean, we gotta get some really tiny milkers and that could be a challenge until we get the technology, but...”

“Yeah, that's right, the technology,” Sgt. Trent said as he shook his head. “Never mind that this is not how any of this works.”

“Right – not yet,” George said.”We just need the right technology!”
