I have been blown away by this image. It might not be the best shot of the Orion Nebula, but it was my first ever attempt from when I got my star tracker.
I am new to all this tracking stuff and this was just a test shot, if I remember rightly the original shot was about 30 shots which I combined.
The Orion Nebula, (aka Messier 42 (M42)), is a vast cloud of dust and gas in space where new stars are actively being born. It is one of the most studied and photographed objects in the night sky, serving as the closest region of massive star formation to Earth.
It is roughly 24 light years across and is 1344 light years away from earth, it's things like this that absolutely blow my mind, I mean, 24 light years across and it's here in just a few pixels, WOW!
I wasn't 100 percent happy with the initial image as the stars looked a bit out of focus etc. But as it was a test shot I was more than happy with how it turned out.
However, recently I've discovered a program called Siril and RC-Astro blurXterminator, so running Blur-X within Siril, it has made the shot much more clearer, I just can't believe how good this looks.
So, I decided to have a go at running my Jupiter picture through Blur-X too, and this really did bring a so much more to the image, bearing in mind that the jupiter pic was done with my telescope and no tracker, testing out the SV-Bony SV205 camera.
Again this was a test shot, the next time I try and get a shot of jupiter I will also be getting on the moons that you can see, as you have to over expose a bit on jupiter to get the moons, and then expose correctly to get jupiter and then blend together.
The shot of Orion wasn't taken with a telescope, but was done with my Sony A7iii camera with the Sony 24-105mm F/4 lens, I still can't believe how well this turned out and now really looking forward to get some proper astro shots.
I am so excited now the nights are getting darker, I just need to wait for a new moon and a clear night.
