ENGLISH VERSIÓN
Greetings to all.
People who live almost all the time in large towns and cities sometimes long to travel to the countryside to disconnect for a while, whether in the countryside or in small rural towns, to fill themselves with what they call pure air from nature. Although they also sometimes repeat the same comfort, but on a smaller scale, in inland urban places, psychologically they feel that they have temporarily rid themselves of the concrete jungle and the architectural siege.
For those of us who live here, it is not so different, since our small habitat also produces those sometimes suffocating effects. And although with four steps we take we are already stepping on land outside the city, we do not always have the extra time for a getaway to the open countryside.
That is why, on a day like today, when one of my daughters called me to solve a plumbing problem in an elevated tank that she has in the yard, more than as a demand, I saw it as an offer and I went out ready to serve.
I took an oar of tools similar to what I was going to do and, cross country, I arrived at his house, which is on the edge of a country road a couple of kilometers from the main town. The normal way would have been easier, but I like to change the map to the mind, because it likes to be dominated.
Thus, as soon as I left home, from a small elevation on the route I chose, I had before my eyes an open panoramic view of the countryside, where, like small splashes on the plain before disappearing into the horizon, some peasant houses stand out, no longer as Creole as in times past, since our rural environment has also changed and technology has entered into that evolution. Even solar panels wink at the sun.
We are in the meeting between the winter that arrives and the summer that resists retreat, and the clouds pregnant with water, almost every afternoon, stop over the fertile lands that await the winter gold to let themselves be scratched by the choppers and plows, and then welcome the seeds and positions for the tobacco and grain harvests.
I quickly resolved the issue that brought me there, and from then on I freely and consciously dedicated the remaining time to observing nature and, sitting on the porch, receiving the happy and pure slaps of the country breeze. Phew. What a gift for my lungs!
Our fields are beautiful!
I also enjoyed observing country life (of which I was once a part). See the grazing, greet and be greeted rudely by the people who pass by riding in different vehicles or on foot. Happy and simple like the very nature in which they are enclosed.
It really is a different day. Or so. Except for a few different hours before returning to the small-town atmosphere, which, although it is also still rural, is denser and has a different feel.
Thank you for joining me. And when I come back, I invite you.
