Father's day, mothers day, valentine's day, whatever days we're celebrating indeed make a huge impact due to commercial reason.
This is yet another challenging day we found most if not all of the restaurants are pack and people queuing up going into the restaurant, probably bringing their dads go to dinner once a year? 🤣
Since we're not that into these kinda commercial celebrations, we haven't booked for fancy restaurants. I did got some perks where the home minister does all the chores for me already 🤣 this is probably one of those very few occasions I get to call for a day off from house chores.
We sent the kids to their grandparents, went out for a small date. It's probably the best time to enjoy some good time as a couple. We chose this noodle restaurant, just because it's "ordinary".
We ordered some normal dishes such as simmer pork slices, rice wine chicken noodles, and I got myself a dry minced pork noodle. To complete my mealz of course I can't be possibly not ordering my iced coffee.
Food was really great and there's absolutely no queue.The coffee was very local, bean has been over roasted at high temperature. How can I tell? The burnt smell, and the fruity flavor. In a way, this is how the old school coffee shop operators roast their beans. it's good at their standard, you just can't compare it with Starbucks which cost like 4x more.
Rice wine chicken noodle is one of the dish that Chinese likes to cook for confinements. Rice wine helps for blood circulation, and chicken for protein. You don't get to taste this kinda exotic stuff, it's not an everyday dish and therefore not many Chinese shop will sell this.
I orderedy dried noodle with extra pork and extra egg. By the look of it, I was ok. Once I took the first bite of that pork slice, its actually quite hard to chew. Instead of BBQ, I believe they boiled the meat instead.
Other than minor detail, I'm actually quite happy with the food. Having said that, it was only me and the home minister dinnig there, and it's not a fancy restaurants people bringing their father to show off. We got a peace of mind enjoying our food before we left.
Soon as I reached home, I figured the time to collect my daily spin, so I did. And I was greeted with a huge surprise. I'm very happy to have collect more points so I can support others.
