Going to work is a pain in the ass for me. It's been three years since the MRT project started, and now it's only half way there. I've been suffering from the heavy traffic due to road closure here and there around this area.
It reminds me of how tiny of us being a human living in this vast land. Distance between my house and juniors school is only about 2km. We used to wake up 6:30 in the morning, get everybody prepared and leave home by 7, we will still be able to get to school by 7:05. And now, it's no longer the case. Everyday is uncertain, depending on which part of the road they close for construction work. We need to get everyone up by 5:30 and set ourselves out of the house by 6. Despite the distance is short, but the traveling time sometimes can be a real pain in the butt.
Well, there's this one time. There is no road closure, no road works at all that morning. We left home by 6 and reached there by 6:05. Now, another problem, how can I leave junior at school so damn early before everyone arrived? Again, it triggers me another question, what about those kids who arrived school, do their parents worried about them being alone in school? I have no idea how I survived, neither will I ever understand how can people ditch their kids at school 6am in the morning.
Distance is one thing, time to travel is another. It can be near, but it can also be very inconsistent. What we strive to do best is, be there on time. Fortunately we found a solution to that, which is head to the near by McDonald's for a cup of coffee and wait for time to past. Let's hope this nightmare gone sooner than later and we shall live a normal life like everybody does.
Now if you excuse me, 8 need to catch some sleep before I overslept and had to be late for school tomorrow. Have a great evening.
