There was barely anything left on earth now, no oceans, rivers nor oxygen. I had to sell my water to get oxygen for a day. The look of the earth was heart-rending, the atmosphere was tainted with red color; storms of dust was the only thing that could be seen.
The soil was barely soil, it turned into hard red rocks and plants were like they never existed on the planet.
Even I was hurrying to get into the shuttle, I knew there will be thousands who will be left abandoned to die. It was the moment when I had to think about myself than others.
"Last five minutes to fly", the man said.
People were literally begging to be taken to Mars because there was nothing left here. The children were crying their hearts out, and mothers with children were pushed, only the strong could survive.
Unfortunately I couldn't make it to the ship, But I knew there was nothing beyond but a life of slavery and hard bones.
I would rather be dead than living like the dead, I said to myself.

I was left on earth with a million or should I say billion others. We all saw the shuttle flying above us vanishing into the dusty blanket of air, the people moving in it never knew they were moving to their end, the ultimate end because there is no life on Mars, only a life without soul.
